RubinBrown's Entrepreneurial Services Group delivers a variety of accounting and consulting services to dynamic small to mid-sized businesses. We work directly with business owners to help them achieve their goals through all phases of business from start up, growth, and eventual exit. Services vary based on client needs, but can include accounting, tax prep and planning, compiled or reviewed financial statements, and payroll and sales tax compliance.
We are seeking a Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in leading client engagements across a variety of industries, balancing responsibilities in both tax compliance / planning and assurance (review and compilation) services. The ideal candidate is a proactive and relationship-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and enjoys mentoring others.
Major Responsibilities :
- Manage the engagement workflow of client deliverables for multiple clients in various industries
- Understand general accounting concepts and procedures
- Review income tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals
- Review work-papers and financial statements for review and compilation engagements
- Review accounting and month end close completed by either our team or client
- Establish direct communication and relationship with clients as primary point of contact
- Develop into role of clients' trusted advisor
- Plan and execute engagements effectively, adhering to RubinBrown Client Service Standards
- Supervise staff assigned to the engagement
- Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to other engagement team members
- Identify and communicate performance improvement opportunities to staff
- Continually build technical expertise
- Assist in scoping and onboarding new clients
Preferred Experience / Background / Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degreeCPA requiredPrior public accounting experience preferred5-7+ years of experiencePrior income tax preparation, including partnerships, corporations and individuals is a plusStrong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technologyExcellent leadership capabilitiesUtilize analytical and research abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)Strict adherence to professional ethicsAbility to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firmAbility to stay organized and appropriately prioritize multiple tasksAbility to meet challenging client requirements and provide quality client serviceStrong problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skillsEnergetic, enthusiastic personalityWillingness to take initiativeWorking Conditions :
The typical office hours are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.Travel for this position will be approximately 5% of the year.Ability to sit for long periods of time.Ability to move throughout office.Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 10-30 pounds.Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, team members, etc.Culture & Firm :
