Volunteer & Donor Engagement Coordinator
The Volunteer & Donor Engagement Coordinator supports reStart Inc.'s mission by managing volunteer engagement, individual donor stewardship, and event logistics. This position serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers, designing meaningful opportunities for both individuals and corporate groups, while ensuring donor records are accurately maintained in the organization's CRM. The Coordinator plays a critical role in stewarding donors through consistent communication, acknowledgement of gifts, and event-related engagement. By fostering strong relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners, this role advances reStart's mission-centered, trauma-informed, and equity-driven approach to service.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, schedule, and manage individual and corporate volunteers for ongoing and special projects. This may require travel from location to location.
Serve as the primary representative at volunteer events, ensuring volunteers experience meaningful and mission-aligned engagement.
Collaborate with internal team members to identify and create impactful volunteer opportunities that directly support program needs.
Maintain accurate volunteer records and reporting systems to meet compliance and stewardship standards.
Ensure timely follow-up after volunteer engagements, including acknowledgments, appreciation activities, and ongoing relationship-building to support future engagement.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship
Serve as the main point of contact for donor data entry, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the CRM.
Steward individual donors through personalized outreach, communications, and recognition efforts in coordination with the Development team.
Process contributions and ensure timely, accurate acknowledgment letters and receipts.
Manage reStart's monthly donor portfolio, including cultivation of new donors, stewardship of current supporters, and implementation of strategies to increase donor retention.
Assist the Chief Development Officer in stewarding corporate sponsors and supporting sponsorship processes.
Participate in professional development to strengthen skills in donor relations, stewardship, and nonprofit communications.
Event Support
Coordinate volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and management for fundraising and community events.
Support donor event logistics, including ticketing, seating, and guest management.
Assist with corporate sponsorship commitments, including tracking and event-day stewardship.
Provide logistical support before, during, and after events, ensuring professional and seamless execution.
Administrative & Project Support
Maintain up-to-date donor and volunteer records, generating reports as needed for leadership and funders.
Provide administrative support for campaigns, departmental initiatives, and special projects led by the Development team.
Collaborate with the Marketing & Outreach Specialist on communications related to volunteers and donors, ensuring alignment with reStart's brand and mission.
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 23 years of experience in volunteer coordination, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM / donor database systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
