JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE : Dental Director
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Senior Director of Dental Services provides direct patient care (50%) and works to supervise / evaluate dental provider staff. They are responsible for advising the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and Operations team regarding the overall program and overseeing departmental initiatives, including development and supervision of quality assurance, utilization, and peer review processes.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES :
Staff Dentists, Hygienists, and Dental Clinical Manager[Av1] [SS2]
FLSA STATUS : Exempt
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Education : DMD, DDS, or equivalent. Must be a Massachusetts fully licensed dentist.
Experience : Five years of post-license practice experience strongly preferred. Supervisory and / or managerial experience or equivalent education / certification in management preferred
Skills : Working knowledge of rural services and needs, ability to work with a diverse population and sensitivity to low-income populations.
Must be competent with diagnostic procedures for dental, periodontal, and oral pathology conditions, restorative dentistry, removable prosthodontics, crown and bridge, simple extractions, and all-ages family dentistry.
Able to manage patients with complex medical histories and dental trauma

WORKING CONDITIONS :
While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent when traveling between Health Center locations where medical care is provided. This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
