Manufacturing Engineer Manager
Position Focus : Manages and directs the organization toward its primary commercial commitments and technological objectives, based on long-term product and profitability goals, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Responsibilities :
- Develop world class competitive processes for build-to-print manufacturing components for the Aerospace, Space and Defense industries.
- Establishes current and long-range objectives and plans for the site engineering team in support of the greater strategic plan.
- Provides input to the technical vision for the company and plans for implementation of new technical projects or product lines.
- Drives Lean processes and lights-out manufacturing.
- Drives continuous improvement and new product implementation programs.
- Review operating results of the organization compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines the schedule of product releases or project deadlines.
- Creates and maintains engineering specifications for commercial and development activities.
- Represents organization with major customers and with significant suppliers.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Engineering Department.
- Works with engineering department to quote new opportunities on time and competitively.
- Manages Team including Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining co-op relationships with local colleges / universities ; addressing and resolving complaints.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Engineering; four or more years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experienced leader in a technical function.Must be proficient in GD&T and machining best practices.Experience with automation, robotics and lights out manufacturing.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
