Day shift long-term opportunity

We are looking for electricians with heavy industrial machine building experience or full-cycle construction to join our core team in Springfield, IL. This is with a French-Canadian company that manufactures large industrial-style lifts. We are ramping up and moving our Canadian factory back to the US!

Job Description

As an electrician, you will install electrical conduit systems, assemble and wire electrical panels, and connect electrical components to various equipment. You will perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, ensuring they meet all safety and functionality standards. Collaborating with mechanical and production teams, you will integrate electrical systems into equipment assemblies and maintain accurate documentation of all installations and repairs. Compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical conduit systems, including bending, cutting, and securing conduit to meet layout specifications.
  • Assemble and wire electrical panels according to schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Install and connect electrical components such as lights, cameras, control panels, and sensors.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to integrate electrical systems into equipment assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, modifications, and repairs.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of electrical assembly experience
  • 3 years of heavy industrial assembly experience
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing plans or blueprints in both imperial and metric systems
  • Proficient in basic computer operations for documentation and system interfaces
  • Skilled in the use of hand and pneumatic tools for electrical work
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, comfortable working at heights up to 20 feet
  • Previous experience in a similar electrical installation or maintenance role is an asset
  • Electrical certification and familiarity with industry standards are preferred

    Work Environment

    This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 7 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. You'll be part of a new manufacturing facility, expanding operations under a globally recognized group. The work involves assembling and erecting lifting equipment in a dynamic environment.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $40.87 / hr.
