Location : Slaughter, LA

Schedule : Monday–Friday 6 : 00 a.m.-3 : 30 p.m.

Pay : $30

Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our growing fabrication team. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about precision work and contributing to the global supply chain. You'll work in a dynamic manufacturing facility assembling grapples, clamshell buckets, and heavy equipment used worldwide.

As a Structural Fitter, you’ll interpret blueprints, fit large steel components, and assist with fabrication of structural assemblies with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities :

Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and work instructions

Perform complex fitting tasks in accordance with specifications and tolerances

Lay out, position, align, and fit structural components using measuring tools and fitting aids

Operate hand tools, grinders, torches, and cranes to prepare materials for welding

Utilize jigs, fixtures, and gantry / jib cranes for material handling and assembly

Maintain clean and organized work area and follow housekeeping protocols

Support welding team by preparing assemblies for welding and ensuring precise fit-up

Follow all safety procedures, wear proper PPE, and participate in safety briefings

Perform other duties as assigned in support of fabrication and production operations

Requirements :

2+ years of experience as a structural fitter (preferred)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools

Proficient in torch cutting and grinding

Comfortable lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in physically demanding environments

Strong understanding of fabrication shop safety practices

Experience using cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling tools

Willingness to cross-train and learn new processes and equipment

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Technical training or apprenticeship in welding / fitting (preferred)

Strong math skills and ability to work with fractional measurements
