Assignment Overview :

HumanEdge Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Bethpage, NY . Join a large, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services for 9 facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, with emergency services coverage.

Position Details :

Shift : Evenings – 3 : 00 p.m. to 11 : 00 p.m.

Schedule : Every other weekend required

Hours : 8-hour shifts

On-Call : None

Facility Details :

Large, busy off-site sterile processing center supporting multiple facilities

Emergency coverage for regional facilities

Required Qualifications :

Sterile processing certification ( CRCST or CSPD , must not expire during assignment)

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience :

1.5+ years if tertiary experience

2+ years if not tertiary experience

Preferred Qualifications :

2+ years of experience

Technical Skills / Responsibilities :

Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to manufacturer instructions and department protocols

Operate STERIS washers, autoclaves, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and other sterilization equipment

Follow instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts

Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from hospital areas for decontamination

Examine instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality; report malfunctions

Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory

Maintain a contaminant-free work environment

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift / carry 25 pounds

Manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods

Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
