Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, knowledge of Haas vertical machining centers & controls is a plus; maintaining quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment.
Duties :
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Programs machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Ability to read and understand G code.
- Sets-up machine by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops; indicating vices; tramming heads.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to standards.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Develop new CNC programs based on engineering drawings and models.
- Edit and convert existing programs for different machines.
- Experience machining a variety of metal alloys including aluminum, stainless steels, inconel, copper, etc.
- Must have an understanding of G-code and M-code.
- Proficient with GD&T
- Manual editing on the shop floor for program adjustments and optimization.
- Must have experience with Mastercam software
- Experience with Haas machines is a PLUS. Experience with 5 axis is a plus.
