About The Role

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is a proactive technical expert focused on elevating the reliability and performance of the systems that power wwt.com. You will shape and enhance the infrastructure and services behind our digital platforms, working closely with development teams to address complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities :

• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the reliability and performance of wwt.com and our critical, high-traffic services.
• Drive improvements in key user experience metrics such as page load speed and interactivity.
• Develop and implement monitoring and alerting strategies to proactively identify and address issues before they impact users.
• Lead the triage and resolution of incidents, navigate complex production challenges, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to share knowledge, influence best practices, and foster a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.
• Write code to automate tasks and solve problems, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency.
• Plan and execute load testing to assess system scalability and performance, thoroughly investigate any issues uncovered, and implement effective solutions.
• Take ownership of reviewing penetration test results, collaborating with relevant teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure our platforms meet high security and reliability standards.
• Guide and mentor team members, providing technical leadership and helping shape engineering decisions.
• Stay curious and committed to learning, embracing a growth mindset and encouraging innovation across the team.
