Position : Chief Engineer Reports to : General Manager
Job Summary :
In charge of the maintenance department. Handles the employees and all projects within the department. Keeps every aspect of the property in good repair and maintains a high-quality level of work. Responds to the guests needs in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities :
Make sure all work orders are completed in a timely mannerImplement preventative maintenance programs for the property / equipmentKnow and adhere to hotel / franchise and ZMC Hotels standardsOversees all staff in maintenance departmentKnowledge of fire alarm and evacuation proceduresTests and maintains water content of swimming pool and whirlpool in accordance with hotel / franchise standards and local Health Department CodesMaintain parts and supplies inventory, advising General Manager on items neededInspects, maintains, and cleans outside grounds, including parking lot, curbs, and landscapingInspect and maintain elevatorsKnowledge of OSHA procedures and trainingRepair furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, windows, bed frames, etc.Does painting, touch-up painting, and finishing of furniture and buildingChecks electrical systems such as refrigerator controls, phone systems, televisions, movie systems, key systems, HVAC units and lighting making repairs as necessaryChecks and makes repairs on general plumbing systems such as pipelines, toilets, tubs, sinks, whirlpools, and drainsSolicits bids from contractors, discuss with General Manager, and oversee any work doneComplete a weekly maintenance logMaintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, fellow employees, and personMaintain and test all life safety systemsMust be responsible for security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets.Must be CPR certified, SDS trained, and completed AWAIR programMust perform any other required duties as requested by the General Manager to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests.All duties must be carried out in a safe manner.Be flexible and adaptable to the changes that will occur to your jobEmployee must treat everyone with dignity and respect.Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer / guest information, employee issues, etcNecessary Skills :
Have a valid drivers license and dependable transportation available to pick up suppliesMust have basic electrical and plumbing knowledgeMust have an outgoing personalityMust be able to work a flexible scheduleMust be honest and work well with othersPhysical Requirements :
Stand / walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space / environmentMust have eyesight enabling vision both near and farFinger dexterity for operating machinery and hand toolsMust speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level, and understand EnglishMust be able to bend, stretch arms overhead and lift and / or carry up to 100 pounds
