FINANCIAL ANALYST III

Job Summary

Provides analysis of financial operations and information to provide decision support to executive staff and responsible for project results and completion.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to provide recommendations for improvements in processes and outcomes by mining data from various sources.
  • Performs statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data compiled from various sources.
  • Prepares reports and makes recommendations based on findings, including health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, revenue, and profitability.
  • Identifies trends / patterns, causes for variation, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Assists with budget review for compliance and opportunities.
  • Collaborates extensively with the clinical team to improve quality and completeness of documentation related to care provided and core measures.
  • Collaborates with and serves as expert with assigned areas, committees and improvement teams in data collection, data analysis, and data reporting.
  • Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Serves as internal expert and resource for improvement teams regarding strategies, plans, and tools.
  • Helps design and facilitate programs, meetings, and education on quality improvement.
  • Compiles and analyzes information for peer review, medical staff credentialing, and reappointment.
  • Establishes procedures to ensure the accurate collection, summarization, reporting, and interpretation of data mined.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Performs special projects and duties as assigned, including necessary research, forecasting, and conflict resolution.
  • Mentors team members.
  • Researches and applies industry benchmarks and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in healthcare related field required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
  • No licensure / certification / registration required
