Responsibilities

  • Lead and support civil design for a variety of private and public projects
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design plans
  • Coordinate utility, grading, and stormwater design using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Develop construction drawings and documentation packages
  • Perform hydraulic design and stormwater modeling, including detention and drainage systems
  • Assist with roadway rehabilitation and municipal infrastructure
  • Work with permitting and plan review processes at local and state levels
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders regularly
  • Contribute to a team-first culture by helping colleagues and mentoring junior staff

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward licensure
  • 5+ years of experience in civil site design or municipal engineering (beneficial but not mandatory!)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with ADA design standards, building codes, and BMPs
  • Knowledge of surveying principles, stormwater calculations, and permitting processes
  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check

    • Location & Schedule

    This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Belvidere, Illinois office. A reasonable commuting distance is expected. Our team works a standard Monday through Friday schedule with daytime hours.
