Patient Care Technician

The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a health unit coordinator.

Acute Cardiovascular Unit :

We are a specialized Cardiovascular Telemetry department that cares for a variety of cardiothoracic patients including post open heart surgeries, heart transplants, heart failure, CABG, valve replacement, lung surgeries, esophageal surgeries, vascular surgeries, myocardial infarction, post cardiac catheterization patients, mechanical circulatory heart patients and a wide range of cardiac IV medications. We develop skills involving chest tubes, epidurals, temporary pacemakers, measuring central venous pressures, IV insertion, EKG interpretation, and mechanical circulatory heart devices. PCTs are cross trained as Telemetry Monitoring Technicians and Health Unit Coordinators.

• Shift Details : Full-time Variable Shifts. There will be call requirements and rotating weekends and holidays. The schedule is done by a seniority based self-scheduling, and the shifts requirements are at least 50% nights.
• Additional Details : Shift differentials are given for evenings, nights, and weekends
