Overview

As part of the Department for Work and P pensions (DWP) Operational Delivery you will be at the heart of DWP’s front line operations helping to change peoples lives in our communities from around the 20 million plus customer base.

DWP is responsible for helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners and protecting some of the most vulnerable in our society. We help people lift themselves out of poverty and to stay out of poverty, through work, saving and support. This is a hugely important public service, and our challenge is bigger than ever.

DWP are looking to fill Senior Operational Leader roles within West & South Yorkshire Districts.

Responsibilities

• Be able to make sound decisions, drive performance, work collaboratively and lead others.
• Focus on building collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and organisations to deliver excellent service.
• Role model positive behaviour and ways of working to help DWP continue to be an inclusive place where people can be their best.
• Monitor and drive performance, lead, coach and empower teams, build and maintain strong strategic relationships and make sound decisions.
• Demonstrate visible leadership, taking a personal lead in engaging with and communicating key messages and implementing corporate change.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Travel and location

All posts cover multiple offices and therefore will involve extensive travel across each District with occasional travel across West & South Yorkshire Group.

Working arrangements

All roles are office based, front facing positions. Hybrid working will not be considered at this time.

Selection process and terms

Successful candidates will be posted to a specific role and will have the opportunity to express a preference as part of the selection process, although final decisions may come down to business need, and the skills and development needs of candidates.

Standard promotion rules will apply, and successful candidates will be placed on the pay scale and terms and conditions of DWP.

As well as filling current roles, we will be looking to create a reserve list for future posts.
