Job Summary
As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will provide essential caregiving services during your work shifts in long-term care, focusing on resident-centered nursing care and daily living support.
Your responsibilities include :
- Delivering age-appropriate care based on resident needs as outlined in care plans.
- Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs.
- Providing psychosocial support and personal care for assigned residents.
- Helping residents with transfers, repositioning, and mobility, using proper techniques and equipment.
- Facilitating enjoyable dining experiences, including assistance with meals and snacks.
- Documenting care interactions, noting changes in residents' conditions, and effectively communicating with nursing staff.
- Collecting body fluid specimens and vital signs as needed.
- Maintaining cleanliness in resident living areas through housekeeping and laundry services.
- Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs.
In addition, you may support nursing staff in procedural tasks and participate in departmental committees as required.
Qualifications
Preferred : High school diploma or GED.Must be at least 18 years of age.Experience in long-term care preferred.Must obtain Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or enroll in a certification program within four months of hire.Annual completion of departmental competency tests and continuing education (12 hours minimum required).For specific states, enrollment in the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be necessary.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required if the role involves driving.Benefits
