Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT) to support patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This role involves providing essential comfort and basic care to patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatric, and adult populations, within a dynamic healthcare environment in the Pacific Northwest region.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols.
- Deliver comfort measures and assist patients with daily needs, including meal support.
- Record and communicate vital signs and observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake / output to supervisors.
- Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Prepare formula in the NICU department when required.
Qualifications
ACT : Preferably 3-6 months of experience in an acute care setting.ACT-Float : Preferably 1 year of acute care experience.NICU Department : Minimum 2 years of CNA experience with strong pediatric background preferred.Basic computer proficiency is required.Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English.Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.Education
Must hold one or more of the following upon hire :Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.Military Corpsman experience.Nursing student who has completed fundamentals including initial assessment and vital signs.Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer for specific departments.Completion of at least 10 continuing education hours related to work annually.All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
