Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in Reading, PA, for the current school year (CSY). This role is ideal for educators passionate about supporting diverse learners in a dynamic classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student learning.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
  • Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments promoting academic and social growth.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development activities to stay current on special education best practices.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience teaching special education students at the elementary level.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations concerning special education.
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
