Job Summary :

We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting. The ideal candidate will be confident assisting veterinarians and RVTs with exams, surgeries, treatments, and patient care, while maintaining professionalism and compassion in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to advance to full-time after a probationary period.

Responsibilities :

Assist veterinarians and RVTs with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Safely restrain animals for exams and treatments.
Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications under supervision.
Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.).
Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia or hospitalization.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (Covetrus Pulse experience a plus).
Communicate clearly with clients and teammates.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all hospital areas.

Requirements :

Minimum of 3 years of veterinary assistant experience in a small animal hospital.

Knowledge of animal handling, restraint, and basic veterinary terminology.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.

Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive attitude.

Willingness to work occasional extended hours.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
