Job Summary :

We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting. The ideal candidate will be confident assisting veterinarians and RVTs with exams, surgeries, treatments, and patient care, while maintaining professionalism and compassion in a fast-paced environment.  This is a part-time position with the opportunity to advance to full-time after a probationary period.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist veterinarians and RVTs with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Safely restrain animals for exams and treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications under supervision.
  • Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.).
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia or hospitalization.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (Covetrus Pulse experience a plus).
  • Communicate clearly with clients and teammates.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all hospital areas.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 3 years of veterinary assistant experience in a small animal hospital.
  • Knowledge of animal handling, restraint, and basic veterinary terminology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to work occasional extended hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
