Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal ICU / NICU

Work location : Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Mother-friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility

Work hours : Full Time Nights (6 : 45PM-7 : 15AM) for 36 hours / week, with Weekend and holiday requirements

Neonatal ICU / NICU Department Highlights

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

Our team is like a family with a newly expanded Level III Neonatal ICU / NICU unit with 16-beds – utilizing CPAP, Bubble CPAP, vents, and working with Feeders / Growers in our family-centered care unit

Here’s What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required

BSN is preferred

One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.

One year or more of Neonatal ICU / NICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred.

RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety / infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and / or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
