The Dinex Group, the management company of Chef Daniel Boulud, is looking for a General Manager to oversee all daily operations for the One-Michelin star Cafe Boulud New York! Cafe Boulud's menu is inspired by Daniel Boulud’s four culinary muses : la tradition, classic French “cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, flavors of world cuisines.
The General Manager position is a salary-based position that manages all the front-of-house employees and works closely with the Executive Chef of the restaurant. The General Manager is responsible for consistently providing restaurant guests with friendly and professional service, delivering 100% guest satisfaction. The General Manager must oversee the front of house floor staff, ensure that they abide by the policies and procedures of the restaurant. They will float during service time and open / close the restaurant as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily restaurant operations to ensure flawless guest experiences from arrival to departure.
- Oversee service standards, etiquette, and hospitality to consistently exceed guest expectations.
- Manage front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain profit and loss accountability, budgets, labor costs, and inventory control.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu execution, wine program, and seasonal events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, brand standards, and Forbes / Fine Dining training protocols.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and represent the brand with integrity and courtesy.
- Drive guest satisfaction through proactive service recovery and personalized guest interactions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate service quality and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as General Manager or senior operations leader in a Michelin-recognized or high-end Michelin-starred setting, or equivalent Michelin-level fine dining environment.Extensive experience with French cuisine service standards, table settings, courses, timing, and pacing.Demonstrated excellence in hospitality, guest relations, and service delivery at the highest level.Familiarity with Forbes Training or Forbes Travel Guide standards and a strong commitment to Forbes benchmarks for service and quality.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and develop teams.Strong financial acumen : budget management, cost control, labor optimization, and P&L responsibility.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.Professional demeanor, appearance, and presentation that reflect a luxury brand.Desired Qualifications
Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.Proven track record of achieving and sustaining Michelin-level service standards.Experience mentoring staff through ongoing training programs and performance coaching.Fluency in additional languages is a plus (e.g., French, English, other).The Dinex Group LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
