Overview :

The Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician p erforms and interprets analysis on patient specimens using complex laboratory techniques. The Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician Provides medical staff with information to aid in patient diagnosis. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications :

Medical Laboratory Technician

• Education

Associate degree in a major acceptable to a certification agency for MLT

• Certification / Registration : MLT ASCP or equivalent

OR

Medical Technologist I

• Education

Associate degree

• Certifications

MLT certification OR Bachelors degree, in a major that meets a certification agencys requirements OR Completion of a 50 week U.S. military medical laboratory training course

• Preferred Education : Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Preferred Experience

3 years acceptable clinical laboratory experience

• Preferred Certifications

MT(ASCP) or equivalent

OR

Medical Technologist II

• Education

Bachelor's degree

• Certifications

MT or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent required
