Power Electronics Validation Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking aPower Electronics Validation Engineerfor an opportunity with our client inNewark, California.

OVERVIEW

The Power Electronics & Test Validation team is looking for an electrical engineer specifically with power electronics for EV and renewable energy expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strong understanding of power electronics topologies and control.

Review schematic, PCB designs, calculation and simulation of power electronics converters.

Conduct the verification and validation tests for power electronics systems, ensuring compliance with industry and requirements.

Strong hands-on and trouble-shooting skills in testing and verifications of power electronics systems, including the use of lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads, scope, etc.).

Capability to analyze the root-cause of the power electronics system and drive R&D activities independently.

Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.

QUALIFICATIONS

M. S degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field preferred

3 overall years of experience in the field

Strong understanding of power electronics topologies and control.

Strong hands-on and trouble-shooting skills in testing and verifications of power electronics systems, including the use of lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads, scope, etc.).

Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.

Preferred Requirements

3+ years of experience in power electronics development and testing.

Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals.

Knowledge of automotive requirements.
