Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU.

The nurse will provide care for patients who are post-op back / neck, trauma, DKA, sepsis, respiratory distress, and ETOH.

The unit is an 11-bed ICU.

The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1 : 2-3.

Charting will be done using an Epic system.

Floating between like units may be required based on facility needs.

The role includes caring for adults and geriatrics.

Daily census typically involves 11 patients.

Interdisciplinary support will be available, including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Candidates will be expected to manage complex patient care needs, including ventilated patients and those with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure.

The nurse will be responsible for interpreting arterial blood gases and managing IV sedation.

Additional competencies include starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and wound care management.

Weekend shifts may be required according to unit needs.

Pre-approved time off is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract.

Specific time periods for non-approval of time off apply.

Candidates should not have applied to internal travel jobs or permanent staff positions within the last two years.

Modules are completed during onboarding and will not vary by specialty.
