Description

Perform professional administrative support duties for a program, department or specific functional area of the College. These duties and responsibilities involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the department / function to ensure efficient office operations i.e. correspondence, records, reports, calendars, etc.
  • Provide support for the day-to-day activities related to the financial responsibilities of the department re : budget, expense reports, purchasing, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of on- and off-campus meetings, events and / or workshops.
  • Assist clinical staff and faculty in the dental programs with responsibilities related to the facilitation of a dental clinic, such as laundry and sterilization processes.
  • Provide reception support i.e. answer and screen telephone calls, greet and interact with the public, students, faculty and staff.
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Provide back-up support services, as required.
  • Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to attend closely to detailed work, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with computer software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
  • EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

    1. Highschool Diploma

    2. 0-2 years of experience and possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter; general office experience is helpful.

    Preference will be given to those who meet the minimum qualifications and have general office experience in a Dental office / clinic.

    Supplemental Information

    The Administrative Assistant supports the department of Dental and works at WCTC's Waukesha campus. This position is available on January 5, 2026.

    Position Details

    This position is a part-time, 10 month, 19 / hours per week position. Hours are generally between 7 : 00 a.m. and 5 : 30 p.m. and may vary based on department needs. Scheduling may change each semester.
