This is an Exempt position with the starting salary being $80,089 commensurate based on experience.
Position Summary : Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Speech / Language Pathology Department of the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven Hospital and related community residential programs.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Meet the communication needs of patients with speech, language, cognitive, or hearing disorders.
- Assess swallowing status for dysphagia patients
- Provision of direct patient care, evaluations, documentation, supervision of rehabilitation technicians
- Participation in performance improvement efforts of the facility
Qualifications :
Master of Science Degree in Speech and Language PathologyAmerican Speech and Language CertificationOklahoma State LicensureComply with JCAHO and CARF standardsExperience in, and competent to perform direct speech / language therapy care with adults and supervise direct care staff in the delivery of servicesTwo years’ experience in rehabilitation or psychiatric settingExperience in Neuro rehabilitation with patients suffering from Traumatic Brain Injuries preferredDysphagia experience is a huge plus, but not requiredKnowledge of neurogenic communication disorders, physical rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, psychiatric rehabilitation, behavior modification, and management of aggressive behaviors preferredPhysical Capability Requirements :
