Job Title : Maintenance Mechanic – Day Shift & Night Shift!

Location : Detroit, MI

1st Shift / Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM | Saturday as needed, 7 : 00 AM – 12 : 00 PM

  • 3rd Shift / Schedule :
  • Monday-Friday8pm-6am, Additional overtime as needed

Pay Rates :

  • 1st shift : $20.00 – $25.00 / hour (based on experience)
  • 3rd shift : Up to $31.70 (based on experience)

  • Express Employment Professionals is hiring for clients in the Dearborn area supporting heavy load transfer and processing / recycling equipment, supporting industries from automotive to heavy construction!
  • Position Summary :
  • We are seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join the day and night-shift maintenance teams in Dearborn, MI. The Mechanics will perform maintenance and repair on trucks, heavy-duty equipment, and yard machinery in a fast-paced environment. These roles require strong mechanical aptitude, a focus on safety, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in all weather conditions.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and air systems on trucks and heavy machinery.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and service vehicles and equipment according to company maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to service calls for breakdowns and perform on-site repairs.
  • Pick up parts from local dealerships or vendors as needed.
  • Conduct test drives to verify repair quality and performance.
  • Follow safety standards and maintain proper use of PPE and tools.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Assist in general housekeeping and cleaning duties related to plant equipment.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL-A preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
  • Welding, torching, and hydraulic systems experience a plus.
  • Mechanic license or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
