Salary :
We are looking for a Superintendentfor upcoming construction projects in Berkshire County, based out of our Keene office. This position will oversee and manage all field activities of DEW employees and subcontractors to ensure contract requirements are met while adhering to the companys safety, budget, and schedule goals. This position will manage self-perform work along with the planning, coordination, and supervision of all DEW and subcontractor personnel on-site.

Job Responsibilities include :
Attend and participate in Turnover Meetings, Planning Meetings, Closeout Meetings, and pre-construction & weekly project meetings w / subs, vendors, owner, architectProvide timely input / feedback to customersBuild and maintain positive work relationshipsEnsure new employee orientationEnsure DEW and subcontractor work crew follow project proceduresEvaluate field personnel; set goals to assist in employees personal growth and developmentRecognize and reward superior work performanceAttend and participate in all DEW scheduled Supervisory MeetingsAttend and participate in all DEW scheduled Supervisory Training ProgramsAttend and be pro-active at all company functions / meetings / committees that require attendanceEncourage employees to become involved in company functions, committees, etc.Participate in groundbreaking, ribbon cuttings, and special eventsSubmit daily field reports each weekCommunicate field decisions to all affected partiesCommunicate with the design team, engineering professionals, and owner on an ongoing basisEvaluate employees after 30-days employment and as required annuallyParticipate in proposal presentations / interviewsHandle issues in a timely mannerCoach and mentor DEW employees to assist in their developmentConduct an improvement analysis for the project, process, profits, and relationshipsPlan, coordinate, and / or supervise activities of all personnel on-site (DEW employee as well as subs)Plan work schedule (assist in the preparation of CPM Schedule and short duration schedule)Determine workforce levels by preparing a monthly workforce projection updateDetermine equipment requirementsDevelop and update material handling planReview submittal list and delivery schedulesCommunicate change orders to all affected partiesMonitor cleanliness of job site trailer, tool trailer, DEW vehicles, and overall construction siteReview and fully understand estimates and subcontractsReview and understand budgetAssist Project Managers with the buyout of materials quantitiesSubmit weekly / daily timecards, assuring accuracy and timely submissionReview, approve and cost code all material invoicesMaintain effective tool rental managementReview financial forecasting on a monthly basis with the project teamThorough understanding of construction techniquesUnderstands properties of construction materialsUnderstands all aspects of project design and engineeringUnderstands principles of surveyingUnderstands state and federal rules and regulations as they apply to construction (asbestos abatement, recycling, etc.)Understands construction law (contract documents, insurance requirements, etc.)Understands labor law (hiring, firing, evaluations, sexual harassment, etc.)Provide technical assistance to DEW team and subcontractorReview and understand the scope of work, plans, and specsReview and understand subcontractor and vendor scope of workReview and understand shop drawingsEnsure construction complies with drawings & specsBe familiar with computer softwareConduct subcontractor field orientation for each subcontractor prior to the start of the subcontractors workSafety :
Ensure compliance with the Companys Safety and Loss Control Program and EEO programs on all assigned projects. Be aware of all potential claims as a means of protecting the company and communicate these issues to the Director or Safety if such potential exists.Prepare the site-specific safety plan with the Safety DirectorCoach employees and subs on the importance of and how to work safelyMonitor and ensure weekly toolbox meetings with crewBe responsible for job site safety procedures / planDocument and ensure corrective safety measurements are implementedUnderstands and enforces OSHA rules and regulationsMaintain AED / CPR / First Aid certificationConduct weekly safety meetings and safety auditsQuality Control :
Establish and maintain an on-site quality construction control program Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and Local agenciesParticipate in pre-installation meetings and preparationEnsure all documentation of pre-installation, during installation, and post-installationEnsure material conformance with approved submittals, plans, and specificationsZero Punch list should be your objective.Required Experience :
At least 5 years of Construction Management Superintendent experience, including proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications.Experience building ground-up Healthcare, Commercial, Education, Industrial and Retail projects. Experience with wood-framed construction is an advantage.Good written and communication skills. Competent at negotiation and conflict resolutionOrganizational / management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract drawings and specificationsKeen attention to detail and ability to meet all assigned deadlines.Familiarity with construction / project management software (experience with CMiC, P6 Scheduling a plus).Good to excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.Completed projects valued at $10 million or more.Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.CPR / First Aid Certified10-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certification; 30-Hour OSHA preferredIf you are interested in being part of an innovative and collaborative team, in a challenging and rewarding work environment, we want to hear from you!
