  • Job Description

    the HR Specialist is responsible for supporting hiring managers and applicants through the interviewing, selection, onboarding and employment process at the facility. Additionally, the HR Specialist contributes to projects and initiatives across all the program areas in Human Resources

    Day-to-Day

  • Independently administers the recruiting, interview and selection process for assigned positions, including; editing and recommending job description updates, determining advertising needs and preparing ad copy, pre-screening resumes / applications against position requirements and assisting the hiring manager in developing the framework and appropriate tools for the interview process.
  • Supports hiring managers by performing screening interviews when requested, developing skill assessment tools to enhance the interview process, and reviewing and assessing reference information and feedback from interview evaluation documents.
  • Under the direction of the Recruiting Coordinator, extends offers of employment within the guidelines provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreements (WSNA or SEIU candidates) or Compensation Work Instructions (Non-represented candidates), accurately assessing previous experience ensuring consistency and accuracy in our compensation and hiring practices.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly recruiting report to include summary of open positions, positions filled, traveler summary and other requested data pertinent to evaluate recruiting metrics.
  • Completes pre-employment appointments with new employees to include onboarding paperwork, name badge photo and pre-employment drug screen within Hospital Laboratory. Coordinates out-of-area pre-employment drug screens on an as-needed basis with vendor.
  • Performs ongoing tracking and monitoring of license and certification requirements for all employees .
  • Prepares and distributes monthly reports for Leadership Team and email reminders for employees.
  • Supports employee compliance with annual requirements to include NetLearning and Employee Health by preparing reports for Leadership Team and following up with employees to ensure completion within established timeframes.
  • Reviews performance evaluations and escalates leadership follow up to HR Generalist or HR Manager.
  • Inputs performance evaluations into Kronos (HRIS) and produces monthly performance evaluation report for the Leadership Team.
