Overview
Our client is seeking a Designer who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage BOMs and product configurators. The Designer will support the team focused on new product development and will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered.

- Pay Range : $29.00 – $42.00 / hr depending on qualifications
Responsibilities
Create engineering documentation including Solidworks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standardsTranslate engineering / marketing intent into manufacturing working 3D layouts, detailed documentation and Bill of Materials and configuratorsWork with VAVE / Product Engineers and Production Engineers to provide 3D models and documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current productsExhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skillsDemonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness through incorporation into design and configurator workProvide accurate estimates of tasks on projects and execute to your estimate. Work with project management to consume and communicate additional work estimates as neededGain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin productsDemonstrate an understanding of all current and legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logicBe part of and function in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teamsMentor less experienced drafters and designers within the teamMinimum Qualifications
Vocational, Technical, or Associate of Applied Science degree in design / drafting4+ years of related design experienceIntermediate Excel skillsProfessional work experience with manufacturing practices and processes and product configurations, including basic logic for product or design selection.Professional experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD toolsUnderstanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logicPreferred Qualifications
Experience in sheet metal design and / or HVAC products is desired.5+ years of related design experienceSeniority level
