Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and looking to make a meaningful impact in healthcare? We’re seeking a Reimbursement Specialist to join our team, supporting patients through accurate and timely billing for home infusion therapy and enteral nutrition services . In this role, you’ll work closely with patients, payers, and internal teams to ensure proper documentation, compliance, and reimbursement while providing outstanding customer service and support.

The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a service-focused mindset, and experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance reimbursement . Knowledge of infusion billing, payer requirements, and systems such as Brightree or Epic is a plus, but not required. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment, and you will be making a difference in patients’ lives every day.

This position is located on-site at our Iowa City, Iowa office and will be required to work on-site, with a hybrid working arrangement possible following six (6) months of orientation and training.

Position Summary

The Reimbursement Specialist position is responsible for billing insurance companies, clients, and third-party payers for home infusion services and enteral nutrition therapy, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs billing services for home infusion therapy and enteral nutrition services in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation and authorizations have been obtained by the intake department prior to billing as it relates to payer requirements, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs.
  • Performs collections duties within billing software.
  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication and a professional relationship with patients, co-workers, and outside facilities.
  • Documents communication between patients and payers in the data system.
  • Addresses patient concerns and provides management with feedback on strategies to achieve goals and prevent future service issues.
  • Handles patient payments and provides counseling regarding available payment plans.
  • Assists with process improvements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in using technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required.
  • Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience desired.
  • Some experience in any of the following areas; healthcare billing, coding, reimbursement, or insurance claims is desired.
  • Knowledge of Infusion billing is desirable.
  • Brightree and Epic software experience.
  • Understanding of payer requirements and reimbursement procedures.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, and apply policies, principles, and techniques to solve problems.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Bending, reaching, and stooping occasionally.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of reference checks.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Expected Work Hours and Location

    Generally, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm Monday-Friday. Days and hours are subject to change with notice.
