Job Description

The Brand Strategy team is dedicated to improving the perception of F5 as a leading application delivery and security platform company. We define and drive the F5 narrative, increase the impact of the F5 brands across the journey, monitor brand health, and develop content plans that improve F5 discoverability.

As a Senior Brand Manager on the Brand Strategy team you will play a critical and high-visibility role in shaping and scaling the F5 brand strategy. This role leads sophisticated, cross-functional programs that use advanced market research and performance data to drive decision-making. You will serve as a trusted advisor across the organization, working collaboratively with stakeholders across geographies and functions within and outside of marketing. Every project will require you to remain agile, thoughtful, and impact-focused in alignment with F5 customer needs and business objectives.

You will partner closely with teams including Integrated Marketing, Comms, Creative, Field, Channel, PMM, AR, Tech Alliances, HR, Global Good, Events, Customer Experience, Sales, Professional Services and more to deliver holistic brand initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To :

  • Lead the organization through strategic brand research and insights

Independently own the design, execution, and analysis of brand health research programs

  • Develop innovative approaches to uncover deeper and more meaningful insights that drive organizational decision-making
  • Inform executive stakeholders of outcomes and provide strategic recommendations to fill gaps
  • Build alignment and buy-in on findings with senior cross-functional leaders
  • Collaborate across teams to foster consistent brand experiences
  • Partner with key stakeholders to integrate the F5 brand narrative across customer touchpoints

  • Drive education of brand guidelines across F5 globally
  • Identify new opportunities to engage customers in the F5 brand and create repeatable and solutions to implement them
  • Evolve brand governance and content strategy
  • Lead ongoing governance for the F5 brand, ensuring brand standards are updated and accessible across the organization

  • Partner with creative strategy to identify gaps and opportunities for evolving brand assets and their applications, enhancing usability and scale
  • Build and optimize content strategy that improves F5 discoverability in areas of the marketplace that advance F5 business objectives
  • Oversee and drive the strategy of the F5.com home page, ensuring cohesive storytelling and an optimized user experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to see the big picture and the details all at once (e.g. brand and business strategy)
  • Understanding of strategic brand concepts including brand architecture, sub-branding, and product portfolio management
  • Experience in fielding and / or analyzing qualitative and quantitative research
  • Knowledge of branding and positioning fundamentals
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to exhibit solid interpersonal skills and build relationships across multiple departments and all levels of management, as well as outside the company
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of real-world brand management experience with the care and nurturing of a publicly visible brand
  • Technology experience or knowledge of B2B, applications and open source is a plus
  • Excellent market or brand research experience
  • Experience in web content strategy and / or UX
  • Experience working with creative teams / agencies or vendors is a plus
  • Ability to listen, be nimble and adapt quickly to strategic changes
  • Team player who can independently drive processes and tight timelines successfully
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment :

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane; less than 10% of the time spent traveling.
