The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for evaluating residents, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to help residents regain or enhance independence in daily living skills, improve functional abilities, and achieve their highest level of well-being.
Occupational Therapist Key Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and create personalized care plans based on resident goals and functional needs.
Deliver occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living (ADL) training, therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices.
Monitor, document, and evaluate residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and physicians to ensure holistic resident care.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive strategies, and home safety to promote functional independence.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and facility policies, including documentation, infection control, and resident rights.
Occupational Therapist Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Current and valid Occupational Therapist license.
CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal, clinical, and organizational skills.
