Responsibilities Work in a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) within a hospital setting Care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac and lung transplantation, and ventricular assist device placements Unit is an 18-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 Handles complex cases including post-operative cardiac patients and transplant cases Assignment offers rotating day and night shifts (7A / 7P) Assignments available for 36 or 48 hours per week Primary duties include the recovery and management of complex cardiovascular surgical patients Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in an advanced ICU environment Orientation sessions scheduled on specified dates Locals accepted at the same rate except for specified facilities with a 60-mile radius restriction Holiday and weekend coverage may be required Requirements Active RN license (MD or Compact) Current BLS certification Recent experience in a dedicated open-heart ICU required Experience with post-op cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting Proficiency with ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires / pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, Level 1 and IABP, and ECMO Experience in facilities with 500 bed capacity required ACLS certification, critical care certification, trauma course, and EPIC EMR experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625796.
