Essential Functions

• Set-up and operate manual lathes, Bridgeport style mills, jig bore, grinders, etc. with minimal supervision.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Based upon documented set-up instructions, select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines to manufacture parts as drawing-specified.
• During set-up, observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed.
• Perform part inspections by verifying conformance of finished product to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as per protocol.
• Ensure that safe work practices are maintained.

Physical Requirements :

Primarily manufacturing / assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions : noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines, and / or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively. Candidate must be able to maneuver up to twenty pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
