Position Description
We\'re seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to drive manufacturing excellence and operational innovation at our South Carolina facilities. You\'ll lead cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, implement lean manufacturing practices, and spearhead facility expansion projects. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering expertise, offering the opportunity to shape the future of American manufacturing while building and developing high-performing engineering teams.
What You\'ll Do
Lead new production line setup and optimize warehouse operations using data-driven methodologiesDesign and implement scalable production and quality processes across our SC facilitiesSpearhead facility expansion projects, establishing world-class manufacturing capabilitiesOversee critical projects from conception to completion, providing executive leadership with comprehensive status reporting and analysisImplement lean manufacturing practices through hands-on Gemba walks and assessmentsLead cross-functional automation initiatives to optimize production efficiency and qualityPartner with Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Quality teams to drive process improvements and new product developmentEnsure operational excellence across the entire value chain—from supply chain to final product deliveryCreate an inspiring workplace culture aligned with Element\'s mission of innovation and accessibilityDevelop talent through structured performance management, goal setting, and career development planningLead, mentor, and grow a team of engineering professionalsFoster collaboration across departments to achieve ambitious company objectivesRequirements
Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience7+ years of progressive engineering experience with at least 3 years in management rolesDemonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving operational improvementsStrong technical foundation in manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all organizational levelsWhat Will Set You Apart
Lean Manufacturing expertise (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S certifications preferred)Advanced project management skills (PMP, Agile, or similar certifications a plus)Experience with automation and Industry 4.0 technologiesTrack record of successful facility startups or expansionsBilingual capabilities (Spanish / English) to support our diverse workforceMilitary leadership experience or other diverse leadership backgroundsCore Leadership Competencies
