Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teacher is an on-call paraprofessional level position that is part of the Rise Academy team. The incumbent will provide excellent classroom coverage of one to four class periods per day, in the event that a Rise Academy instructor is absent. The Substitute Teacher reports to the Principal and supervises no staff. The Substitute Teacher will be responsible for the education, safety, and care of up to 20 students.

Essential Duties

• Greet each student with dignity and respect.
• Take attendance and other necessary paperwork.
• Manage the classroom, including student behavior.
• Adhere to lesson plans to provide educational instruction.
• Requests assistance from staff as needed.
