AmeriCorps is hiring : Plenitud PR ASN : Senior Care Coordinator in Las Marías

Overview

Plenitud has been a leader in offering environmental educational services since 2010. The organization focuses on disaster service, environmental stewardship, and healthy futures. Through the Plenitud PR agroecology program, the organization trains new young farmers and community members in sustainable agriculture techniques and operates a demonstration educational model on the western region of Puerto Rico. The Las Marias Community Center & Resiliency Hub provides space for education and resiliency activities. Plenitud supports healthy futures by sharing recipes and educational materials to encourage healthier meals using more fresh produce. The Amo mis Abus program focuses on caring for the most vulnerable elders in the Las Marias area, including delivery of healthy vegetarian meals and companionship, coordinated with brigadas for home care and maintenance.

Member Duties

The Senior Care Coordinator will support Plenitud\'s Amo mis Abus program, which currently provides weekly healthy vegetarian meals, health education, companionship, and home support to 50 high risk elders in the Las Marias area. The AmeriCorps member will help extend community nutrition and the integration of local produce into meals, participate in workshops, and support nutrition and plant-based diet education.
