Job Description :
Homemaker Parent Aid includes working with community agencies, the Department of Child Services, schools, and law enforcement to directly advocate for at-risk children and families, providing critical needs assessments, prevention and intervention services, and progress monitoring to determine appropriate treatment plan; teach and assist clients in applying effective life skills; document all contacts with clients and produce all required reports on time.
Job Requirements :
To work successfully as a PEACE Community Services, LLC's Homemaker Parent Aid, you will need to have the following requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities :
- \tMust be able to maintain detailed progress notes.
- \tMust be able to file ongoing reports as required.
- \tAbility to travel between appointments to service clients within their community.
- \tA valid driver's license and insurance.
- \tKnowledgeable regarding social service systems within the state.
- \tClear, effective communication skills.
- \tKnowledge of and adherence to current confidentiality practices.
- \tAppreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.
- \tAbility to develop and maintain relevant networks of key contacts.
- \tAdept prioritization and time management abilities.
Responsibilities :
\tFulfill the responsibilities of the paraprofessional supervised visits.\tAssist parents in basic parenting and homemaking skills.\tMeet with clients on a regular, consistent basis, not less than one time at the frequency listed on the referral (The number of visits is determined by the level of care needed on a case-by-case basis and / or by the referral source).\tProvide ongoing support for clients, including emergency and crisis consultation in a 24-hour timeframe.\tCompletion of clear, accurate documentation of 1) all contacts with clients, 2) monthly reports,3) court reports, and 4) treatment plans.\tDemonstrate respect and cultural sensitivity to all clients and all referral sources.\tAlways maintain strict confidentiality to protect clients.\tAttain / maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.\tServices will be provided effectively, efficiently, and with evidence provided for each.Some Assigned Tasks :
\tEnsuring visits with parents are appropriate and the child is protected.\tAssist in the cleanliness and appropriate infant care.\tAccompany and support clients for court.\tProvide transportation for clients as needed or necessary to meet treatment plan goal(s).\tSubmit documentation on time.\tReport to the referral source / supervisor significant information regarding any unusual incidents.\tCoordinate services for clients and link them to the appropriate community resource.\tAssist the client with the following : advocating, teaching, coaching, demonstrating, monitoring, and / or role modeling new, appropriate skills for coping with the following areas to build self-sufficiency.Qualifications
\tHigh School Diploma\t21 years of age.\tMust possess a valid driver's license and;\ta) Have the ability to use a private car to transport yourself and others.\tb) Must comply with state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage.Education
