Raw Materials Inventory Control Specialist

The Raw Materials Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This position is responsible for performing daily cycle counts, processing inventory adjustments, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The role is essential to ensuring stock accuracy, minimizing losses, and collaborating across departments to meet company KPIs for inventory control.

The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 6 : 50am to 3 : 20pm. Additional overtime may be necessary.
Job Responsibilities
- Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
- Conduct daily inventory counts of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non-conforming materials according to the cycle count schedule.
- Verify that materials are stored in proper locations; locate and correct any misclassified inventory.
- Confirm bin locations and promptly report discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory issues by identifying and documenting root causes and performing necessary adjustments.
- Perform and document scheduled cycle counts, reconcile variances, and support continuous improvement efforts in the cycle count program.
- Participate in physical inventories and assist with reconciliation processes as needed.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager, warehouse staff, and Production Supervisor to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to process counts, review on-hand quantities, and monitor current and past transactions for accuracy.
- Open and inspect containers to verify quantities and ensure materials match system records.
- Report discrepancies, overages, shortages, or damaged products to supervision for resolution.
- Execute inventory adjustments for write-offs, shrinkage, and stock transfers as authorized.
- Track and report key inventory metrics, including accuracy rate, cycle count compliance, and shrinkage rate.
- Raw Material Management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Warehouse Management, and Production teams to ensure seamless material flow.
- Monitor, analyze, and reconcile raw and packaging material inventories to ensure system accuracy and alignment with physical counts.
- Promptly escalate discrepancies, shortages, or quality issues to cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Serve as a technical expert in material flow to and from production, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the conversion of raw materials into finished goods through Lean and 6S principles.
- Process Improvement & Safety
- Identify process gaps, perform root cause analyses, and recommend improvements to prevent future discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, following all quality and safety standards.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as required.
Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 1 year of responsible experience in a warehouse or inventory control role.Qualifications
