Job Description
This program level resource will support product launch efforts by supporting the development of service models, service collateral to enable engineers with similar roles to perform installation and service of Inventory Manager Solutions product.They will provide service and support for both in-house teams (e.g. Division level Marketing and R&D) as well as field-based employees (e.g. Sales and Field Service).Informatics Inventory Management Service Engineer will play the following roles :
Service readiness for Inventory Management System (IMS) product launchSupport the development, approval, and release of all IMS service collateral and infrastructure per Diagnostics Service deliverables needed for product launch.Support the development of internal and customer facing technical training material as well as deliver training to the customers in the use of the product.Lead the effort of populating lessons learned in a knowledge base to ensure experiences are retained and knowledge is shared globally.Build division and area level competencies.Perform as a project technical lead directing and executing all on-site Inventory Manager Solutions implementation.Recommend IMS deployment scenarios based on customer requirementsSoftware and hardware configurationSystem integration with laboratory's existing hardware / software infrastructureMaintaining effective Quality SystemCross Functional Team MemberCoordinate project activities with solution package delivery involving multiple products and services.The Informatics Inventory Management Service Engineer will play a vital role in supporting the commercial teams (Sales and Marketing) as an Informatics subject-matter expert for Area Sales representatives.The Engineer will also train Informatics Technical Specialists on effective implementation and support tactics.Field Technical SupportThe Informatics Inventory Management Service Engineer will play a vital role in providing pre and post implementation support to the field implementation personnel known as ITSs (Informatics Technical Specialists).The Engineer will serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide level II service and support to assist field service representative in resolving informatics product issues.Qualifications
Skills / Experience Requirements :
Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of general networking, server technologies / services, workstation / desktop technology, internet protocols, remote connectivity and Microsoft Windows Server skills.Minimum of 1 year of experienceIdeal skills will include
Familiarity with Laboratory workflow and operations related to managing inventory needsExperience or education in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) Controllers, Readers, and hand-held devicesProficiency in system IT architecture and networking conceptsStrong communications and consultative skillsExperience in providing different levels of product supportExcellent communication skillsThis position will require significant interaction with field personnel and customers. Other competencies such as the ability to work in team-oriented environments, adaptability and high initiative are also critical.
