Job Title : Dental Assistant

Duration : 4+ Years with possibility of extension

Location : East Peoria, Illinois

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team by delivering exceptional patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This role involves handling a variety of clinical duties that range in complexity and skill, offering opportunities for learning and growth. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Welcome, comfort, seat, and drape patients for dental treatment.
  • Act as a key communicator within the practice, providing support and information to both patients and colleagues.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment areas; assist the dentist with instrumentation, suctioning, and passing tools.
  • Prepare, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth as directed.
  • Perform diagnostic tasks such as exposing and developing radiographic studies and preparing study casts.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and clean / polish removable appliances.
  • Assist with dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care.
  • Document dental care services in patient records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information.
  • Uphold safety and hygiene standards by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Use equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve resources.
  • Stay current on professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional engagement.
  • Contribute to team goals and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience :

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program OR one year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Required Certifications & Licensure :

  • CPR certification.
  • X-ray training or certification.
  • Preferred Certifications & Licensure :

  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
