Position Summary :

Conduct psychoeducational evaluation of students suspected of needing special education. The psychoeducational evaluation consists of standardized cognitive and academic achievement testing, as well as social / emotional / behavioral ratings scales from parents and teachers. The results of the tests are used to help determine a student's eligibility for special education.

Major Responsibilities

• Write the findings of the evaluation into a comprehensive report.
• Participates in MTSS data review in order to identify students and develop tier 2 interventions.
• Administer standardized cognitive and achievement tests.
• Administer social / emotional / behavioral ratings scales from parents and teachers.
• Responsible for conducting interviews with teachers and parents to identify student's strengths, weaknesses and developmental history.
• Report the findings of the evaluation to parents and teachers at IEP meetings.
• Consult with teachers and other administrators to review intervention data.
• Participate in MTSS child study team in order to provide clinical input, interventions, and solutions for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Interventions and / or referral for testing for special education services
• Crisis Intervention Team member will provide clinical recommendation for referrals to Crisis Intervention
• Active participant in professional development relevant to expertise and / or content area(s)
• Active participant in CSC, PBIS, and other school wide initiatives
