Must-Have :

Experience in ER, ICU, and Inpatient Adult settings is required.

Pediatric experience is preferred but willing to train.

Description :

The department typically staffs 5 therapists during the day and 4 at night.

Therapists can expect to perform 40-70 treatments per day.

Types of patients include mainly adults, with accommodation for pediatric and neonatal cases.

Therapists cover all inpatient areas, emergency departments, outpatient EKGs, and bronchoscopies in a procedural setting.

They may be called to initiate CPAP on infants.

Core responsibilities include administering breathing treatments, managing ventilators, and drawing ABGs.

Therapists also perform EKGs for both outpatient and inpatient settings and may place arterial lines.

In the ICU, they can manage up to 8-9 ventilators simultaneously.

Assistance in intubation is required, but independent intubation is not mandatory.

There is always a lead therapist or supervisor available for guidance.

Therapists will follow a set schedule that is made 4 weeks in advance.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Holidays will be worked if they fall on a scheduled workday.

There are no call or standby call requirements.

Floating will only occur within the facility.

Professional scrubs are required; long nails and unkempt appearances are discouraged.

The facility has an open ICU with various specialists on staff.

A second interview will be conducted, and skills will be assessed on-site for appropriate assignments.

There is a cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week contract.

Charting is done within a specified system.
