Multi-Modality Technologist - Outpatient Imaging
Per Diem
Responsibilities
- Must currently be licensed in at least two of the following modalities : CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or PET-CT.
- Performs diagnostic examinations with understanding of anatomical positioning, modality protocols, and equipment to optimize results.
- Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
- Ensures proper identification of patient demographics.
- Communicates with attending radiologist and verifies provider orders.
- Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
- Maintains exam room cleanliness after exam and procedure; adheres to infection control standards.
- Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
- Familiar with emergency equipment and medications to assist in contrast reactions and other emergencies.
- Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, cooperation, and to minimize anxiety.
- Operates imaging equipment properly, safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety procedures for self and others.
- Replenishes supplies in the assigned area as needed.
- Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks; follows standards for reporting equipment malfunctions.
- Accurately prepares and assists in administration of contrast materials (IV and / or oral).
General Job Functions
Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.Obtains and documents patient history and pertinent information.Assesses patient for potential risks or contraindications to IV contrast.Attends departmental meetings.Education, Certification, Computer And Training Requirements
1-3 years preferred.Licensed by NJ State DEP.Graduated from an accredited Radiography program.Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.BLS certification required. IV certified preferred.Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to use Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS.Compensation
Pay Range : $34.77 - $43.46
