Overall Responsibilities :

  • Identify business news and trends relevant to readers.
  • Assist with In Business’s real-time news coverage and write stories as needed. In coordination with the editorial team, take ownership of several business topic areas for regular coverage online and in print.
  • Produce two daily e-newsletters (morning and afternoon) featuring the top stories of the day and create corresponding social media content.
  • Curate news sections for online editions.
  • Collaborate with editorial staff to ensure seamless and comprehensive news coverage across digital, print, and social media.
  • Monitor In Business’s editorial inbox for high-potential news items.
  • Cultivate and maintain regional news sources, leads, and story ideas.
  • Create coverage plans for daily news items.
  • Post multiple daily news updates.
  • Edit and produce In Business’s two daily e-newsletters.
  • Select and edit news for print features.
  • Contribute to editorial content of magazines and special sections as assigned by the editor-in-chief.
  • Assist at company events throughout the year.
  • Participate actively in the Great Game of Business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Behavior : Be a team player, respectful of others’ time and responsibilities, and conduct yourself professionally. Be a self-starter, trustworthy, highly motivated, and curious. Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Skills : Exceptional communication skills, ability to produce clean, compelling, and accurate content, tech-savvy, comfortable with high-volume daily deadlines, adhere to reporting ethics, and be familiar with social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Skilled at managing time and priorities.
  • Knowledge : College degree in communications, journalism, or a proven successful career track in related fields.
  • Seniority Level : Entry level
