American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Night Shift Med / Surg position requiring Epic experience and a MO or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Medical Surgical unit in a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching Level I Trauma CenterNight shifts, 12 hours (7 : 00 pm - 7 : 30 am), every other weekend requiredAverage nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-6Patient population includes ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, and medical overflowHigh turnover surgery patient unit with colorectal protocols, foley care, CBI continuous bladder irrigation, and TURPsAdministers drips such as heparin, lidocaine (pain only), bicarb, bivalirudin, and occasionally amiodarone (stable, non-titrated)Uses Epic for charting; prior Epic experience requiredCentralized tele with remote monitoring; basic tele knowledge preferredFloating required within service lineCare for post-surgical and complex medical patients in a high-acuity settingAdminister and manage specialized infusions, PCAs, Epidurals, and continuous bladder irrigationCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environmentHoliday coverage as scheduledNavy scrubs requiredNo charge for parking during straight night shifts; parking details provided during orientationAll travelers must complete required orientation modules prior to assignment startTravelers required to complete fit testing for PPE compliance\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredProficiency in Med / Surg, telemetry monitoring, colostomy and feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin, insulin, and PCAEpic charting experience requiredMust live at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates)No first time travelers acceptedRTO (requested time off) can be no more than 7 days per contract and none in first weekPermanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to facility as a traveler\n Benefits\n
