Responsibilities Work in a Medical Surgical - Neuro unit within an acute care, Level II Trauma center Patient population includes neurological and medical-surgical cases such as CVA, pre / post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries Average daily census is 32 patients Night shifts available in 3x12 or 4x12 hour formats (18 : 00-06 : 30) Every other weekend shifts are required No on-call responsibilities Floating within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as required Cerner EMR experience required Responsibilities include comprehensive care for neuro and med / surg patients, including monitoring, assessment, and post-surgical management Royal blue scrubs required Parking permit provided at no cost, completed during orientation RTO ideally limited to 5 days; requests beyond this require approval Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee of Memorial within the past 12 months Locals are accepted Modules and orientation to be completed virtually on the first day Requirements Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of application Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg RN experience required Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross only) Experience with telemetry, remote monitoring, and rapid response teams required Proficiency with colostomy care, feeding tube management, central and peripheral line management, starting IVs, and blood product administration required Experienced in administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications Comfort with chest tube management, CPAP / BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management is required Experience required in handling surgical drains, wound care / wound vac, continuous bladder irrigation, and isolation precautions Cerner charting experience required Experience in a teaching hospital and Level II trauma setting preferred First-time travelers are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627410.
