The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and delivery of high-performance HVAC and plumbing systems with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. This leadership role combines technical expertise with team mentorship, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. You will oversee all phases of project developmentfrom budgeting and scheduling to staffing and construction support. Additional responsibilities involve mentoring team members, managing project execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of work across multiple sectors including Commercial Office spaces, Education, Healthcare, and Municipal / Aviation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) License
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years as a Licensed PEAbility to obtain PE Licensure in the State of Texas10+ years of experience in MEP Design (Municipal / Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial sectors)7+ years of experience managing MEP design3+ years of project management experience3+ years of supervisory experience over an MEP design teamValid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background checkRole
Serve as Engineer of Record for mechanical and plumbing disciplinesLead the MEP design team throughout all project phases, from concept through completionDesign and oversee energy-efficient HVAC and plumbing systemsPerform and validate load calculations to ensure system performance and code complianceManage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocationSupport the construction process through Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including :Reviewing submittals and shop drawingsResponding to RFIs (Requests for Information)Attending construction meetingsConducting site visits and field observationsCoordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and contractorsLead design and coordination meetings; provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineersConduct staff performance reviews and development check-insPrepare and negotiate contracts and fee proposalsCollaborate with Business Development to maintain client relationships and identify future opportunities
