The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and delivery of high-performance HVAC and plumbing systems with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. This leadership role combines technical expertise with team mentorship, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. You will oversee all phases of project developmentfrom budgeting and scheduling to staffing and construction support. Additional responsibilities involve mentoring team members, managing project execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of work across multiple sectors including Commercial Office spaces, Education, Healthcare, and Municipal / Aviation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • Current Professional Engineering (PE) License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Licensed PE
  • Ability to obtain PE Licensure in the State of Texas
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP Design (Municipal / Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial sectors)
  • 7+ years of experience managing MEP design
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience over an MEP design team
  • Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background check
  • Role

  • Serve as Engineer of Record for mechanical and plumbing disciplines
  • Lead the MEP design team throughout all project phases, from concept through completion
  • Design and oversee energy-efficient HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Perform and validate load calculations to ensure system performance and code compliance
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Support the construction process through Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including :
  • Reviewing submittals and shop drawings
  • Responding to RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Attending construction meetings
  • Conducting site visits and field observations
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and contractors
  • Lead design and coordination meetings; provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and development check-ins
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts and fee proposals
  • Collaborate with Business Development to maintain client relationships and identify future opportunities
