Crossing Guard

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Remains standing at the school crossing in full view of passing traffic for a specified period of time.
• Guides and directs school children through busy intersections utilizing issued safety gear and hand motions to ensure pedestrian safety.
• Remain alert for possible safety concerns at school crossings.
• Reports equipment defects and traffic dangers.
• Call 911 if assistance is needed.
• Records and reports license number of potentially dangerous vehicles.
• Directs students to cross the street at the crossing signal.
• Reports incidents to supervisors,
• Directs students to walk at the crossing point.
