NICU RN Job Details Position Type : Travel / Contract Registered Nurse Unit : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location : Des Moines, Iowa 50309 Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026) Weekend Rotation : Every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation if scheduled Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2,080 - $2,230 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience BLS (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required Dependent and Child Abuse certifications (can be obtained during onboarding) First-time travel nurses welcome Ability to float to general pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed NICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to premature and critically ill infants Monitor and manage NICU patients requiring vasopressors, sedation, and glucose administration Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Maintain a safe and supportive clinical environment for patients and families Document nursing care and patient progress using EPIC EMR Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations Apply now to join our Des Moines healthcare team and take the next step in your NICU nursing career!
